Over 800 new Oriental Rugs just received!
Our up and coming category in rugs is the RAMIN collection. These rugs are made with GANZI WOOL, which comes from sheep raised in the Ganzi Plain of eastern Afghanistan, just south of Kabul. This is considered the finest weaving wool for making hand knotted rugs.
Eight additional styles have been added to the AGRA WITH SILK collection. These rugs are probably the most fashion forward rugs in the market today. They are made with pure silk and high luster hand spun apparel grade wool. These unique designs are woven by families using vegetable dyes.
Also added are five new styles in the HIMALAYAN ART collection. Tibetan weavers using contemporary designs weave these rugs in India. All wool in this collection is hand-carded and actually spun through the fingers to obtain a high luster rug.
We have added a new quality of rugs called MUSEUM GAVAKS. These one-of-a-kind pieces are woven by master weavers in Pakistan and are excellent investment quality items. You won't believe the colors! The second collection is SUFIAN, which are handmade in India by the highly respected Numan family of weavers. Each piece is woven from very fine two-ply wool and contains 256 hand tied knots per square inch. Both these collections use designs, colors and shades of 19th century Turkish weavers. These beautiful rugs recreate the classic look and OUSHAK style of rugs.

The Top Ten Steps to Getting the Perfect Room
We've all seen it. That perfect room that looks and feels right. The kind of room you want to spend time in. But often we go home and look at our own rooms and don't have that same feeling. Why not? Because a well designed room doesn't just happen. It is the result of careful planning and execution. Every room needs a plan.
When creating that "dream" room for our clients we at Honquest consider the following ten steps:
- Determine what you want from the room - deciding on your room's purpose will be a key factor on selecting the décor.
- Consider who lives there - children and pets will require different choices than a room only used by adults.
- Discover what pleases you - clippings from decorating magazines of your favorite rooms will reveal what you like.
- Keep size and scale in mind - be careful not to purchase items that are too large for your room. Many people think they have more space than they realize.
- Remember harmony and flow - try to maintain similar colors and tones throughout your home.
- Focus on one great piece - find something that you absolutely love and go from there.
- Develop a plan - never begin a room with out giving thought to the end result. A builder would never begin constructing a house without a plan so why would you consider designing a room without one?
- Avoid fads - unless you plan to redecorate every two years select timeless pieces.
- Let there be light - use lighting not only for tasks but to create an overall mood.
- Make it personal - your room should not only be a great design but should also reflect your own style.
