Roberta Ohlrich has a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts/Business and is a licensed Interior Designer, practicing for twenty-eight years. Her early design career began with Baker Furniture in the contract furniture division specializing in bank and hotel projects. She then became a lead designer for their Showroom Design & Display division overseeing eighteen showrooms. Roberta joined Honquest Furniture for Living in 1994 as a design specialist. She has worked on numerous residential and commercial projects in the Chicagoland area including local banks, builders’ model homes, as well as new home construction, and vacation homes for clients in Florida and Wisconsin. As a result of her eye for quality upholstery and workmanship, she became the upholstery buyer in 2001.
Roberta believes interiors should be a reflection of the personality and lifestyle of those individuals who reside or work in the environment, rather than a particular designer’s statement.
She feels working with a client needs to be a collaborative effort of questioning and listening to the client’s needs and desires for any particular project. Then, as an interior design professional she is able to translate their vision into form within budget and as beautifully as they expected. Her specific expertise is UPHOLSTERY, window and bed treatments and commercial interiors.
Roberta has been published in Chicago Home and Garden, North Shore Magazine, Florida Building and Design, CS Interiors and the Daily Herald.
